Its subjective, the easiest way for him to tell is just flash each and see which ones suits him. The medeBO has the best GUI available for the PBO hands down.
The RSS based jukebox is being used successfully on at least different media players. Once past the learning curve, the update is just inserting another entry in the already saved folder list and let it run. Issues like slow rendering has been greatly reduced by using uncompressed BMPs instead of JPGs (tools downloadable from the ACR thread).
IMS is also subjective, the metafeeds that works (as of now) and is regularly updated and is in high definition are diverse enough (for me), I do use playon.tv as a UPnP server (only way to get netflix on the PBO), but the unidirectional nature of UPnP makes it inadequate for any kind of interaction (you can't do a search on you tube -or any other service - using playon.tv instead you can just navigate through the lists).
One very important feature for me (again subjective) is the MOS services, this gives you the ability to play XSPF playlist which is very valuable feature for those streaming live TV.
as I said, its highly subjective, I do have the MedeBO running on my daughter's PBO, it fits her needs nicely, she can easily navigate through the menus and watch her files (which are all a single genre .. "kids") that said my needs are too diverse for that (with a deal breaker to physically sort my file in genres if I want them to be displayed properly and no other view to the movies like IMDB rating, Year ).
Whatever way you go, you are sure to enjoy your PBO![]()
