Sony Bravia PBO keep rebooting

I have 2 PBO BC16 using ACR firmware that been working perfectly on a Sony 40" TV. For some reason, last week it started getting no signal after the logo bootup. I tried to use different HDMI ports and eventually the firmware somehow get corrupted and just do endless reboot. I serially recovered the flash, the analog side work but HDMI still say no signal after the logo appear. I went ahead reflashed the audio and video firmware, updated bootcode to 23. Tried different firmware, different HDMI cable, different HDMI ports. still no signal. I even tried a another PBO, same thing.

Both PBO work fine on my Vizio TV but not on the sony. I checked the setting on the Sony, doesn't seem to have any setting that could be changed. I know there are compatibly issue with certain TV but it been working for me for over one months since I brought the box.

Anyone know if there is anything on the PBO to change/restore? Could the HDMI from the TV end get corrupted too since it happen to my PBO. I have confirmed with a 2nd PBO that pulling the HDMI cable out when it say no signal cause the PBO to endless reboot.

"erase -m" via serial will erase anything stuck in flash.
Have your tried reflashing with other firmware than the 4318 ?
Have you tried reflashing the firmware on your TV or upgrade if a new one is available ?

yeah i used erase -m to restore the firmware. PBO work again but not for the Sony TV. Tried ACR beta, PCMPBO25-P53, IMS-DEMO, P05-IMS-Demo-BC16 still no signal. I need to look into updating Sony KDR-40S504. The weirdest part is, it been working before.

HDMI is a standard with a mind of its own, I would have told you to change the cable but you already mentioned you did that. I also assume you have tried other HDMI devices on the TV, apparently a TV FW flash/reflash is the last thing to try.

Just to update the post. I followed the instruction on Sony site to update the firmware, TV doesn't pick up usb flash (maybe another compatibility issue). However, I found a reset to default option in the setup menu. I went ahead resetted the setting. TV rebooted and came up with a setup wizard guide.

Power up PBO, whoola screen show right up. Powered off on off on. work perfectly.

I was wondering as my friend had no problem connecting his PBO to his Sony Bravia through HDMI. Glad that you've solved the problem.
