A non-zero awk already resides in /usr/bin along with Busybox in the new IMS-DEMO

That's great, it means you do not need the file I upload with the new PM firmware. I am afraid though that the fact you can not write to the squashfs mount filesystem might be a show stopper unless /tmp/www is writable. I guess I am going to have to download that firmware and unsquash it so I can see the directory structure.

You are talking about this link http://patriotmem.com/forums/showthr...hlight=busybox which does have awk included but this makes things more complicated since you have to first install that busybox version then create a symbolic link on the /usr/bin/awk to "/wherever you install the busybox/busybox awk". Easier to just copy the file I uploaded to the /usr/bin/ IMHO. Thanks for your input the more ways to skin a cat the easier for everyone.

    Cheers!!!

Who needs the squash based one

For those that are not sure how to proceed with the copy process of that file here's an easy way:

    1) Download the file indicated on the link
    2) copy the file (awk) to HDD using network
    3) telnet to the PBO then issue the following command
    Code:
    # cd /usr/bin
    # mount -o remount,rw
    # cp /tmp/hdd/volumes/HDD1/awk ./
    # chmod +x awk
    # mount -o remount,ro
    # exit
tried mount -o remount,rw but still got system read only, dude.

You are probably using PM official firmware IMS-Beta that uses the squashfs filesystem which unfortunately is read only no matter how many times you type mount -o remount.rw. To resolve your issue you can use one of the patch ACRyan 4107, 4318 or the yaffs IMS-Beta that aasoror has kindly put together for us to use. By the way no one as confirmed that this work with the IMS-beta yaffs firmware created by aasoror and I can only confirm that this work on 4318 since this is what I am using.

    Good Luck.

Default No dice with modded IMS fw

its a no go with the modded IMS fw.

I have confirmed that the awk snappy supplied is the same as the one preloaded on the PBO (CRC checked).

Installation wasn't a problem, browsing youtube working fine but enter on a certain clip doesn't do anything.

BTY shoutcast isnt' working either ..

That's too bad; I wander what is the difference ???? You are correct the awk that I have uploaded is the one used on P02 and obviously the other one there after. It is not required for any PM firmware just the ACryan one's. I can also confirm that shoutcast works fine on 4318 and so does some of the other links.

I was wandering if you were able to access the MoService page (the last one below youtube and shoutcast) and do anything there??? Does it show rss_ex has being installed when you go to module???

    Thanks for the feedback.

Yes installation worked as it should.
I have added the module via the web interface, I can enable/disable it via MoService page on the TV. All settings for you tube works (like changing regions etc), its just that files don't play.

This might be SDK related. As 4318 is based on the earlier SDK.

What about other files ? there is also a chance a PBO is missing a file (or a version of the file) that is the correct one on ACR

I'm not sure youtube can be made to work on much of anything as the same thing is true on playon where you can see everything but can't view a single file.

I did find the difference , YouTube (HD)/shoutcast/m3u are now working fine on the modded P5-IMS

I am going to update the firmware releases shortly.
