no usb is attached to the pbo now and the i have put the pbo just in the front of the router, less than 1 meter distance...
the signal bar from the pbo indicates it's very strong
but just somehow i couldnt make them connected, frustrating

i have tried the adapter on other laptop downstair, it works, so it's not the problem of the distance , it's just some settings on the pbo or the compatibility between tew-649ub and pbo, maybe it's a new finding for you, they just dont work together,
unless someone else has exactly the same adapter and works with the pbo
    anyone as you remember?
    thanks

what do u mean by Is your WEP key in hexadecimal ?
in the setting of wep key 's entry method
i make it ASCII instead of Hex
and key length is 128bit instead of 64bit
    will that make any difference?
    thanks

That might be the problem, try using HEX instead of ASCII, though since you said they are all digits (this might not be the problem) but for the record, the PBO doesn't understand ASCII keys and its input keyboard is 0-9/A-F (i.e. HEX digits).
[*]Still new..? check the wiki. [*]Your shares gone for no reason ? Create a machine shortcut. [*]Trashing the G-adapter? upgrade cheaply to N. [*]Getting the hang of it? get organized .. add share shortcuts. [*]Getting sick of it ? it never hurts to rant here [*]Wishing for the time machine? give your PBO a makeover. [*]Bricked it while doing so ? unbrick it for $5[*]Not into cross flashing? keep it semi-official [*]Too lazy to read all that ? you asked for it.[*] Thank U PBO
