    Default missing movies

    Hello again..
Is there a file size limitation on the PBO?
I have 910 movies on one of my drives but the PBO only shows 414 when I'm skimming through them picking something to watch..
I am running pure network using Windows 7 64bit sharing all folders..
The PBO sees all the HD's I want it too but it just does not see all the files in the same folder on one of HD's..
    Thanks

So if you split them into two folders would the files be visible ?!
[*]Still new..? check the wiki. [*]Your shares gone for no reason ? Create a machine shortcut. [*]Trashing the G-adapter? upgrade cheaply to N. [*]Getting the hang of it? get organized .. add share shortcuts. [*]Getting sick of it ? it never hurts to rant here [*]Wishing for the time machine? give your PBO a makeover. [*]Bricked it while doing so ? unbrick it for $5[*]Not into cross flashing? keep it semi-official [*]Too lazy to read all that ? you asked for it.[*] Thank U PBO

Hello sorry for the delay never had time to check properly..
Anyway I finally figured it out, even though most movies show up for viewing some do not..
So i checked the sharing association and I had to add (everyone) once I did that the movie showed up ready for viewing..
My only concern is that WHY are some of the movies there and others are not, what makes them ready for sharing and some are not ready?
I just download and put them all in the same folder i'm not changeing anything..

I have had that same problem. I did not think to look in preferences to see if I needed to change anything. I thought by default everything was set as it was seeing almost all my movies. IT seemed the 1080p formats with file size over 6 gig were not showing. I guess I will have to check out the menu to see if I need to set something up. Other wise I have been very please with this. So pleased I bout one for my son with an external serial drive dock and send him hard drives now and then.

    Any more suggestions?

    Thanks

Make sure that the filename extension is proper for the PBO. The PBO is based on a linux distribution hence .avi is not the same as .AVI. The PBO needs the .avi to show up under the HDD, UPNP or Net tab. See if you can see all your files under the copy utilities of the PBO which do not care about filename extension and displays everything.

I will do that but these are on my server which is linux and I can see all the files there with no problem. I will do more checking in the menu to make sure everything is set right.

But as far as everyone else can tell the PBO should see 1080P files even if they are 24gigs...right?

Check file permissions and make sure they're all set the same with the same owner/group owner and see if that matches what's missing.

Yes the PBO can see file sizes that big..
What I did was right click highlight all the files even if they could already be seen, and changed the associations to everyone and what ever else was missing that you could add, then all files showed up..
    Hope that helps
