Default Sticking with P02 for the time being...

Well, I’ve resigned myself to staying with PO2 on Both of my PBO units.
All other versions seem to fail within a day or so after being installed, tried the latest P53,
that seemed to work but soon the audio failed, played one time on one movie, next time,
no sound, either through the HDMI or the Spdif or the RCA left right jacks, nuttin’.

While I thought at first it may just be my TV, but Composite should work regardless?
    My system is comprised of;
    Reciver; Sony DA5ES
    TV: Samsung TX-S3082WH, it’s a slimfit 30“ CRT HD 1080i

I don’t have a different tv to try this on, or I would see if it was just the way it interacts with my system.

The bootcode is 18 on both units, I've tried the bulk of the various firmware's
    available, no joy...

    Cool

As long as it does things I need from that box, I decided not to mess up with any of those mickey-mouse-"betas" and stick to P02 (bc18), unless there is a real major update.

FYI : P02 is also a beta (as it was released in Nov 2009), it got "renamed" to a non beta on Dec 2009 (without a single bit of change).
[*]Still new..? check the wiki. [*]Your shares gone for no reason ? Create a machine shortcut. [*]Trashing the G-adapter? upgrade cheaply to N. [*]Getting the hang of it? get organized .. add share shortcuts. [*]Getting sick of it ? it never hurts to rant here [*]Wishing for the time machine? give your PBO a makeover. [*]Bricked it while doing so ? unbrick it for $5[*]Not into cross flashing? keep it semi-official [*]Too lazy to read all that ? you asked for it.[*] Thank U PBO

    Hi aasoror,

Thanks for your remark. Well, it doesn't change the fact that the P02 is the most stable of them and was released in "old good times", when PM was more dedicated to its product... Besides, it didn't stay that long in beta phase.

Well now the P02 is acting up, HDMI audio dropped out
Video setting only showed able to select 480p

So I reflashed it again, it seemed to work this time, will check
again tonight, hoping that the bootcode update that Patriot did
for me didn't change it that drastically!

I had a sinking feeling I should have never tried to update

This may also be due to overheating. Are you running your PBO with HDD on-board? If not, is your cooling fan plugged?

Nope, just using the external USB ports and I don't use the computer cables
either, just external hard drives, which I carry around the world with me along
    with the PBO

How 'bout the fan. Is it connected?

Yep, fan's connected and running, nothing inside was touched by me,
nor ever opened by me either, safer that way

Let's then hope that reflashing helps. Good luck!
