    Default Horrible Firmware Naming convention

This is the most horrible bit of quality control I have ever seen.
I just bought a system today, went online just to see if I needed to update the firmware and discovered the complete lack of sense in naming updates and trying to correlate what my unit says:

    System Revision: P020P05
    Bootup: 23
    Bootcode: 0000.0202.0023.

I don't see any model number scribed on the bottom of my unit other than a serial number.

I would assume it is the latest and greatest but I can't even tell based on what is published on http://www.patriotmem.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2131

    Welcome to the PBO forums.
    System Revision: P020P05 is
    Code:
    "ES-51-283G-PCMPBO25-P05"
So you are two firmwares behind.
[*]Still new..? check the wiki. [*]Your shares gone for no reason ? Create a machine shortcut. [*]Trashing the G-adapter? upgrade cheaply to N. [*]Getting the hang of it? get organized .. add share shortcuts. [*]Getting sick of it ? it never hurts to rant here [*]Wishing for the time machine? give your PBO a makeover. [*]Bricked it while doing so ? unbrick it for $5[*]Not into cross flashing? keep it semi-official [*]Too lazy to read all that ? you asked for it.[*] Thank U PBO

    Default Decoding the illusive firmware

Purchased a unit today and this is what the device information page reads:

    System Revision: P020P05
    Bootup: 23
    Bootcode: 0000.0202.0023.

None of the listed firmwares on the support page for the PBO don't appear to reference what I have above. Why is it such a backwards task to decode what you have/need?

Do I have the latest? If not, how do I identify what I need?

gknight, you have firmware P05 and bootcode 23.
You can see all the official firmwares in http://www.patriotmem.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2131
P53 is the most recent one.

Didn't I answer your question 15 minutes after you posted it here ?
Any specific reason you would expect a different answer by creating a whole new thread for the very same question ?!?

Mods: Please merge with the thread here.
    Thanks.
