    Default A/C Adapter Question

Guys, will this adapter work for the PBO?

    http://www.amazon.com/New-Switching-...9&sr=1-1-fkmr0

I simply want to get another adapter to make the box a bit more portable - take the box from downstairs and put it upstairs. I have all the other cables and such. Just want to make sure the adapter tip is the same size. Can't find the detailed spec on that anywhere.
    Regards,

    -Ron

use a ruler, get the inner and outer diameter of the connector (approximate), the go to ebay with these measurements as well as the rest of the specs from the adapter itself (polarity, o/p volt and ampere). You will certainly find an exact match there.
[*]Still new..? check the wiki. [*]Your shares gone for no reason ? Create a machine shortcut. [*]Trashing the G-adapter? upgrade cheaply to N. [*]Getting the hang of it? get organized .. add share shortcuts. [*]Getting sick of it ? it never hurts to rant here [*]Wishing for the time machine? give your PBO a makeover. [*]Bricked it while doing so ? unbrick it for $5[*]Not into cross flashing? keep it semi-official [*]Too lazy to read all that ? you asked for it.[*] Thank U PBO

It looks as though the electrical specs match (12vlt - 2amp output) - but the size of the plug looks to me, from the Amazon photo, to be a little smaller than the one on the stock PBOs' AC Adpt'r - maybe some who knows for sure can chime in to confirm this

Or contact Patriot Memory and ask them if they offer the AC Adp. separately

    http://www.patriotmemory.com/company...jsp?pg=contact - I'de call the 800 # - an email might take a while for a reply

Edit - aasorors suggestion will most likely be the least costly

    Thanks.

I contacted PM and they actually replied and said that they don't sell the adapter separately, but it's a fairly common adapter. I'm fairly certain it's this one - http://cgi.ebay.com/12V-AC-DC-2A-CCT...item335762b7b2

I measured it (with what eyesight I have left) and it appears to be 5.5mm outer and 2.5mm inner barrel, positive center.

    Got to love China too

IME ebay purchases from China take about a month (probably sent on a wind-powered trans-pacific raft), unless you pay 5X as much to "expedite" it . Tho this one claims to ship from HK, which I've found to be faster than from the mainland.

Well a dollar saved is a dollar earned. For me it takes 2 weeks from US, 3 from HK and around 3 to 4 from China to Canada.

Beside your US seller quoted wants to charge $8 for first class USPS shipment that will cost him $1 USD to Canada, sorry I am not in the mode to get ripped off this morning
