Is it possible???
Is it possible???
It's quite simple -- just install XBMC - turn it on and choose upnp in the PBO's browser section and it just works (for me anyway)
PS -- any media that you load into the folders of XBMC most likely can be played directly on the PBO through the 'NET' access on the PBO - provided they are set up to be shared properly from your PC/media server
Because of this -- I haven't found much of a reason to use XBMC via upnp on the PBO -- same goes for Boxee which uses XBMC's upnp to stream the pre-loaded local content to a upnp enabled device such as the PBO
Same for me as the UPNP just dumps all your movie titles in one very long list and since there aren't headers like mp3 files have, you can't do genres or anything like that to keep it from being so long. I have subfolders with genres so I just use the net browsing function as well because I have a lot of movie titles to browse through.
This link might interest you and it will stream online content. http://patriotmem.com/forums/showpos...72&postcount=1
Not only for online content i also like the UI
I don't use an internal HDD on the PBO -- but could mediatomb be run off of a USB flash drive on one of the POB's USB ports - if so I assume the front port may be the best choice - or wouldn't it matter?
I just noticed MT won't work on windows

excellent discussion here.
[*]Still new..? check the wiki. [*]Your shares gone for no reason ? Create a machine shortcut. [*]Trashing the G-adapter? upgrade cheaply to N. [*]Getting the hang of it? get organized .. add share shortcuts. [*]Getting sick of it ? it never hurts to rant here [*]Wishing for the time machine? give your PBO a makeover. [*]Bricked it while doing so ? unbrick it for $5[*]Not into cross flashing? keep it semi-official [*]Too lazy to read all that ? you asked for it.[*] Thank U PBO
It should be possible.
it is just linux system as PBO.
Openelec is just 80mb to 110mb size with full load in XBMC
