Angry Reset the valkyrie factory defaults

I had not used the unit for some time as i was away. I can not remember the admin password. I tried the factory defaults. But that did not work. Everything i have found says you have to login to reset the factory defaults. well If you cant login what do you do? I have like 40GB of different training material i need.

I'm just taking a stab here but try holding the reset button at the back of the device for a short while? Otherwise I'm not sure.

I had the same issue but i did get it working, I had to pull both drives out of the unit with power off, turn it on with the drives out open up the net tool and go threw the setup again. Renter yourself as the admin,it will tell you that there are no HDD installed just slide the drives in with power on and continue. I had my drives setup in a raid 0 all info is still intact and now I can access it.

Have a go at this too. I noticed something which might be a bug. If you reboot the machine and goto the website as SOON as it comes up (refresh like crazy) so the hard drives are not ready yet. It will prompt for login and you can use factory defaults. Dont freak out if drives and folders etc dont show up, they will appear in a bit. Try and change the password before this.

This is because the main NAS HDD is divided into 3 partitions. Swap, Config, and Storage. The firmware needs 10-15 seconds after booting to initialize the HDD. This means the config partition is unavailable, and the unit defaults until the drive is available. If you mvoe fast, you can take advantage of this. You could also mount the main HDD in a linux PC and erase the contents of the config partition (except the raid configuration file) and it will be mostly defaulted.

I have tried what you guys suggested but it seams that the password i put in is written to some sort of nvram.........I dont know if i will buy another thing made by this company. I may just be upset but come on. I guess you get what you pay for.

Any way of accessing the Config partition a little easier, don't have a Linux PC setup. Tried these methods and am still unable to reset the admin password.

Whole thing started when my I couldn't see the admin and public folders any more. All I see is printers and faxes. Tried getting in through a browser and all I could see is the initial home page of the device. When I tried Chrome, it showed me at least the place holders of the buttons, but when I try to click on one, and I try to login, it comes back with an error message.
