Loosing connection
I just got my gearbox last week, tested a few firmwares but all of them give me a boring bug.
If the box is idle, i loose the connection to it after a while. This does not happening if its doing something, like streaming a movie, dl'ing torrents or getting files copied to it.
Anyone else with this problem?

I've tested 1.27, 1.30 ntfs beta, and NAS 903 1.56d. All with the same bug :S

I did get a tip from support, but it work just for a little while, hold the reset button for 5 sec, pull the powercord wait 5 sec, reinsert wait 5 sec, let go of reset button.

Well, if it just helped for a short time, then its same crap :S

I tried to turn of sleep on the usbdisk, and that looks like it helped. But not a good solution...

Sleep Mode
Do we really need the sleep mode on Patriot NAS? Wont the hard-drive have a built in power management scheme which will turn it OFF when there is no active data transfers??

This is what I think is happening too. Most external drives have built in power management (my Seagate does for sure). Tuen off the NAS HD power management and let the HD do it's thing. Has been working flawless for me since I did this (months).

I have always had the NAS not power down the HD, but only let the HD do it it self. But still I get the hangs as soon as the harddrive sleeps.
I tested now with a USB flash memory instead, and it never freezes with that one. Its been on for a month now. So it must be a harddrive "bug".
