    Post PBO will not shutdown

I have the same problem with ONE of the two box office. (brand new)
And with HDMI or regular output, on 3 TV set.
And i is easy to reproduce in my case.
Each time i turn it off it do not show " system shuting down" but close with the red light. If y turn it on ( with the remote) 2 green light come up but with no image (hdmi or regular) output on any tv set i have. I have to turn the swith off and on to get picture back on.
    my boot code is 18
    Any clue on this?
    Thank you.

But it did indeed turn off (it doesn't display "system shutting down" message image just fades and then connection to TV is lost and then the red led lights up).

and it turns on too (the 2 green lights), you can verify that by telneting the box if you got it networked.
What you are describing is a handshake issue where the TV wont accept the signal from standby but rather needs a complete reset (from the back switch).

Have you tried variations in the power up sequences ? i.e. switch TV to the PBO input before (or after) you turn on the PBO. Have you tried turning power cycling the TV and not the PBO and see if it makes a difference ?

You mentioned having 2 units, so I assume you have tested both units on the same TV ports and using the same HDMI cables and still one works non problematic while the other shows this problem ?

Which firmware are you on ? did you try P05-B ?

p.s. you might want to delete the duplicate post

    Default PBO will not shutdown

1-From a cool boot wen a press de red button on the remote, it shutdown with the normal message "system shutting down" with one office box and the red led light up. With the second office box no message and the red led light up.
2- From that point, if a press the red button on the remote, it turn on with the green led and all is normal, with the "copy screen". With the second office box, the TV stay black and the 2 green led light up, and after that it freeze. I press any button on the remote nothing appen on the office box. On any TV and output.
-My boot code is 18 and firmware are identical on both machine(execp for the MAC). And i dont whant to change the firmware for nothing (I read it is only for blue ray format and menu or somthing like that)
When it freeze (with the 2 green led on), i have no reply on the ping command. (time out).

i did not try all the variation (On/Off VS Output Vs before and after) you suggest me wet. Do you think this will change something...But i will do it (this need time).
    Thank you for your help.

If the other box runs without a problem on the same TV, HDMI port, HDMI cable, then its apparently a problem with the first box (no need to test further)

Even if you aren't interested in firmware upgrade, I would recommend firmware reflash with the same firmware (you are on P02 right ?) this has been reported to resolve several other issues before, because it essentially clean the box and return it to (almost) factory state.

I have the same shutdown issue. I left the PBO on for few hours and it won't shutdown when I pressed the "power" button on the remote. I have to reset using the switch on the back of the PBO.
