Work PBO with the WD EARS HDD Series?
Work PBO with the WD EARS HDD Series?
You mean via external enclosure ? (as its a 3.5" drive)
Is the question size or sector size related ?!
Size related .. there hasn't been much reports of problematic external drives especially ones in a 3.5" enclosure (as they are externally powered).
Sector size related .. if you are referring to the new sector size of the EARS series, then it should "theoretically" work. The PBO being a linux box is unaffected by the new sector size issues (in fact only XP based systems are affected).
I bought one I have plugged in an all-in-one docking station (eSATA and USB ports) and it works well with my Windows XP laptop.
I have not yet tried it on the PBO but I do not see why it would not work (with 018 bootcode)
I connect a 1.5 TB WDEADS to the PBO via a USB enclosure without problem. I don't see why a WDEARS would be different.
Sector size related. 2 TB HDD will work on PBO.
The WDEARS have the New Sector System.I connect a 1.5 TB WDEADS to the PBO via a USB enclosure without problem. I don't see why a WDEARS would be different.

When Format this drive von Win 7 the Box Office will Work ?
Seems like a pretty specialized question. Have you asked or checked if it works with other realtek players? Or checked the support forums of WD?

WDEARS uses different sector size that needs alignment to work with legacy systems like XP (all information on WD website).
WDEARS uses the conventional sector sizes.
Yes it will .. PBO is linux based. That said, worst case scenario if it doesn't work you can run it through the WD alignment utility first (very less likely to be needed).

Yes WD15EARS works just fine connected to the PBO. I have one in a 3 1/2 in enclosure, been using it for a month now. Go for it!
