Windows7 - samba problem

Hi,
I have a new PC with Windows7 and now I can't conect my computer with GearBox via SMB. Where is problem, what I must do to fix this problem?

With old PC - WinXP - no problem to make connection.

I also run Win 7 (64bit home premium) and have no problems accessing SMB shares on gearbox - have you used the correct username & password when connecting from windows ?
I use Total Commander and select the Network Neighborhood from the dropdown menu with drive letters etc.

I have Win7 32bit Ultimate an when I try to connect via total commander to my GearBox I got this report: "Windows cannot access \\NAS" if I view to detail information: "The DNS server isn`t responding". Now doesnt work Search Disk utility which wac on CD to my GearBox. In Win Xp worked it fine.
Can somebody help me please?
Now I cant access to my file stored in NAS.

you do not need any DNS server for accessing hosts on your local network !
If you have a router, the easiest way to find gearbox in your LAN is to log into your router's web interface and see what hosts have an IP address assigned - with a small 2-3 computers network, it should not be difficult to find your gearbox.

now I`m confused, I have a router where is setup

"Enable DHCP Server
IP Pool Starting Address 192.168.1.33"
and
"DNS Servers Assigned by DHCP Server
First DNS Server 192.168.1.1
Second DNS Server 0.0.0.0"

(When I disable DHCP server nothing done.)

This setup was functional on my old PC with WinXP, there I enough clicked in total commander to entire network and a had access to my NAS without problems.

What exactly and where must I setup that I can connect o my NAS?

NAS IP is 192.168.1.34

I have 2 notebooks (conected via wifi) and 1 NAS (conected via cable) to one router (zyxel P320W)

Why Search Disk application doesn`t see my NAS? In Xp it worked fine...

Does your router run dnsmasq ?
Otherwise it should not set the DNS server for DHCP clients to its own address.
..anyway, if you know the IP address of your gearbox, you should be able to access it's shared folders by opening

\\192.168.1.34\

in explorer

make sure the disk attached to gearbox is properly formatted and the SMB service is configured to use an existing folder on your disk..

I really don`t no if my router run dnsmasq.

Now is it worseness, I don`t now yet IP adress of my NAS, in router setting I don`t see NAS, I see only 2 notebooks.

If I try to connect to my NAS by factory IP 169.254.0.1 nothing done - I can`t connect.

System reboot, factory default by reset button doesn`t work. Still light onli red LED, not green in LAN conection on NAS. (I thing, before lights both).

How can In now to conect to NAS?

there is no factory default IP address for gearbox, as it would not make any sense. The factory default IP settings mean the gearbox will try to brodcast a DHCP lease request and wait for some DHCP server to reply. Your router should do that, and assign some IP address to gearbox.
As long as you do not have any MAC-based filtering policy in place (on the router), your gearbox should receive an IP address and there should not be any problem finding your gearbox in your LAN - just look at what IP addresses have been assigned by the router in its web interface.

I don`t no exactly how, but it work. (for this moment).

I can to access to NAS via samba and ftp and it os for me primary.
