    - an USB to TTL interface and leads like this
    - the Bootcode and the UI Firmware files which are available from Patriot here
    - WinRAR archive software available here
    - A TFTP server for your PC available here
    - PuTTY (or similar terminal application) available here if your Windows version does not include the HyperTerminal application
You actually only need to get the USB->TTL interface, rest is downloadable software.
I have updated the bootcode link in the OP and the latest official firmwares can be downloaded from the sticky here.

Might want to also check the "unbrick for $5" link in my signature for a different approach to unbricking/bootcode update.

    Best of luck,
[*]Still new..? check the wiki. [*]Your shares gone for no reason ? Create a machine shortcut. [*]Trashing the G-adapter? upgrade cheaply to N. [*]Getting the hang of it? get organized .. add share shortcuts. [*]Getting sick of it ? it never hurts to rant here [*]Wishing for the time machine? give your PBO a makeover. [*]Bricked it while doing so ? unbrick it for $5[*]Not into cross flashing? keep it semi-official [*]Too lazy to read all that ? you asked for it.[*] Thank U PBO

I tried to get this going a year ago and ordered the USB/TTL interface from china for a couple bucks and it never showed and I forgot about it, then while trolling the forums I noticed that there were updated firmware and alternative firmware like the playon that i wanted to try but was still stuck on bootcode 16 so i orderd another usb/ttl interface and cable, when that didn't show I finally discovered that the addresses in my paypal account and my ebay account were differenrt, and my orders were going to my old address

So the people at my old address were kind enough to give me the device and then I had to cut the provided cable in half and redo the conections because the pins on the usb/ttl device didn't coincide with the pins on the PBO. Once that surgery was done the rest was easy peasy, thank you so much for the clear directions
