Default Scheduled backup with source of SMB

    Hi all,

I notice that in the manual is says I can make a scheduled backup from the NAS to the NAS, or from the NAS to a file share (SMB). My question is, will the source of a file share (SMB) be supported soon? Seems kinda odd it isn't if destination works unles there is a technicality im not thinking of. I was hoping to get the NAS to pull from about 5 desktop machines on the network at night to back it up.

Thanks for the help, And thanks Patriot for your quick responses and a drive for new firmware updates. I understand the product has just been released so im excited to see where it can go!

are you planning to back up image of the system or selected folders?

you may need a third party back up software application.

you need a back up software to do workstaton -> nas backup. There are bunch of free ones out there.. you can try backup4all, or paragon has some nice backup solutions ($).

Do you have any plans to support an open source solution such as NASbackup or any other such programs?
