I dig the .9x zoom, for those cases when you need to see something that might be obscured by overscan, but I would also like a slight zoom that would effectively turn a 2.35:1 film to 16:9. WD TV Live gets pretty darned close with their 1.2x zoom.

For the curious, I figure the current video zoom settings are 95%, 100%, 145%, 170%, 205%, 260%

The photo zoom settings seem to be 100%, 150%, 200%, 300%, 450%

My #1 beef with this machine is subtitles by default, and 4 button presses to disable.

I'm very much in agreement here.

Subtitles OFF by default would be good.

The other issue I would want fixed ASAP is to remove the need to have to switch the audio modes.

These are the two biggies that have been annoying me lately.

Updating the formats that it will playback would be nice. I've already run across about half a dozen various avi and mostly WMV files that it won't play. It either reports "Invalid format" or plays back blocky and green.

Was wondering if Patriot was even considering adding a "source direct" output resolution for the PBO. The purpose of this would be to have 1080p 24fps for my blu ray iso's and 480i for my dvd iso's to feed an external scaler to maximize my picture quality.

Loving the unit so far. My wish list would be the following:

1) Search function, scrolling is a little slow on the unit
2) Ability to save favorites and edit them, to many button presses to get to Browse File, Network, login, choose directory, etc.
3) Subtitle screen takes too many clicks, how about having the subtitle button work like a dvd player, click it to switch between items or toggle off?
4) Better fast forward, how about having the next button jump ahead 10 minutes for files without chapters?
5) Parental controls, ideally through a simple password prompt.

*Some high bitrate 1080P video's that leave a lot of green/purble blocks. Some vids, it occurs in a lot of fast/detailed scenes. On other vids its throughout.

I have the same problem as above. Thought I was the only one having this issue.

I'd like to see more setup options, specifically to do with the default folders.

It seems like you have to navigate WAY TOO MUCH. When I select network, I'd like it to go to my shared network folder, when I select the internal hard drive, I'd like it to go the the partition and folder that has my media on it.

I think this could be handled by a config file or something.

If this already exists (I did search), please let me know.
