Exclamation UPNP - Playon - "invalid file"

Newbie here... just got my Box Office and have it set up and somewhat working. I have Playon installed on a local net machine and can access it via UPNP on the Box Office. However, when accessing content from some Playon providers, such as Hulu and Youtube, the Box Office shows me "invalid file" in the preview box. How do I fix this?

Try downloading the file locally from your computer (use http://www.savetube.com/ to save the FLV file from youtube to your computer) then try opening the files on PBO (using a USB stick or something), and see if it opens without a problem. If it does then the problem would be in PBO UPNP and if you are still getting "invalid file" this would mean that the file codec isn't compatible with PBO.

    Hope that helps,

Thanks for the tip aasoror. The Youtube flv files play fine when d/l'd and placed on a usb stick. So it appears my problem lies within the mysteries (to me) of UPNP/DLNA connectivity & throughput. I guess I'll just have to experiment as time allows... and any more tips will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again!

Not that this will help your effort much, I was playing with Tversity's streaming of Hulu and Youtube. Under the default settings of transcoding to 640x480, it worked fine. I tried setting it to transcode to 1280x720 and I got "invalid file" from that point forward. You may want to try playing with the transcode settings, as it appeared to break compatibility when I mucked around with the settings.
