I have more than one external hard drives, and don't want ugly wires going in the front of my PBO. Can I buy ANY USB Hub on the market, plug it in the back and connect all my drives to have more than one drive available at the same time for PBO?

Hmmm, not nice, do anybody know if this could be fixed in future firmware? and if its on the cards?
I disagree. I am a software engineer myself and feel this is a firmware issue like most of the other issues on this forum.
My cheapo USB hub worked for me.
When I goto the USB tab it lists each Powerer External USB hub for me with its Name & letter.
Using a Thermaltake BlacX - SE SATA dock however it did not want to stay on while copying (it has a USB hub as well so this may be why)
I can confirm that cheap usb hubs do work.
I have some no-name usb 2.0 4 port with 3 hdd plugged into it on the rear usb port of the PBO and I can see all 3 drives.
[edit]
And all the drives appear in samba with the samba script mod I made. more info here

hmm no idea what samba is but I have a stock unit no firmware upgrade & it seems to work fine!
BT & Samba are turned off on my unit.
This is great news! I don't know why Patriot_Ben said it wont work, but ill be buying myself a "cheap" USB hub asap. Thanks for the update!
Can anybody that have tested this successfully add some brand names and/or versions of USB hubs that works, then I don't have to buy 10 "cheap" USB hubs.![]()
