remote cannot power on

I just got my Patriot Box Office and i love it. THe only problem i have is that i cannot power back on the unit after i power it off with the remote. I've tried several batteries and it dont work.

I know the master power switch is at the back. I can turn it off this way but i don't always want to go to the unit to turn it off and on.

pls help!!!

I don't wanna sound like an ass, but did you wait about 5-8 seconds after pressing the button only once?

There should only be one red light on, when you turn it off with the remote. No green...

Hard drive in it or not?

The light is green when i power down the unit, there is NO red light. After i press the power button the screen turns black and then my Plasma says No Signa. At this point the unit is functionless with the remote. The only way to turn it back on is when i power off with the master power switch at the back of the unit.

I am using a 32GB Patriot USB Jump Drive.

If your box does not show the red light (standby) when it is off, then you have an issue with the power on the board. Just return it, I had the same issue. Lucky the store was only 2 miles from me and I just exchanged it. The new one works fine for me.

did you power off during playback? it may take a little time before it shut down all the services.

aside from power.. control is working right?

I power off during playback or even just int he menu the same thing happens.

Just to confirm, everything works fine, when the USB drive is not hooked up?

Do you have a wireless adapter hooked up to it too? Did you try both front and back USB ports?

I know these seem like dumbass ideas, but this is how we figure these idiosyncrasies out. Granted, front or back USB shouldn't matter, but who knows...might be a slight power draw issue.

After some testing...

It seems the Patriot 32 GB XT USB key is the issue. It works fine when i dont have the USB hooked up. I get the red power light. It also works fine with my Kingston 16GB and cheap 8GB drive.

I got a 320GB 2.5" HDD on order and i'll see if it works fine wiht that installed.
