    Default PDC2G4000ELK, 2.9v heat issues?

    Hi,

I have a 939 Dual Sata running these and cannot get it to run at 250mhz sucessfully. At 2.7v 250mhz, I get errors in memtest and internet browsing. At 2.9v 250mhz, I cannot get it to stay on or stop crashing during heavy 3d rendering or watching movies. It seems like the RAM gets very hot at 250mhz.

I installed the OCZ DDR booster to read the temp at 2.7v for at least 10 minutes, no fluctuation. I slowly turned the knob to it would reach 2.8v.

I do not think my RAM is bad, since it can memtest1= 100% at 225mhz 2.7v stable and run like a champ still.

Any tips to get it to run 500mhz w/o it acting like a heater? I've already ordered some RAM cooling, but shouldn't that be listed on the package so we would know? OR does it not need the cooling? I've had to spend an extra 50$ on the DDR booster and RAM cooling and think that would have swayed me on picking RAM chips if it was advertised.

Is memtest reliable? Cause the RAM errors me at 2.8v 250mhz. I have to use 2.9v to not error in memtest.

Forgot to add, running at 3 4 4 8 eased timing as recommended.
