Torqx M28 Firmware

Does it not support updates or they aren't needed?

Is trim built in or does it need the clean up utility?

I thought this was the top of the line model that Patriot sells, was I wrong ?

Should I return it for the NON M28 model?

I purchased this model for the speed but if it's going to drop off drastically after I install Win7 tomorrow(since there is no Trim and no utility software)...maybe it's not the model I wanted?

Based on everything I've read, yes, I agree, you should return the M28 for a "standard" Torqx.

The only real benefit of the M28 is the larger cache which is irrelevant because of the poorer Samsung controller performance and current lack of support from Samsung.

It's quite odd, because from what I understand they make the actual NAND memory that goes into all the drives, including Torqx and offerings from other manufacturers. I guess they have their hands full with that.

Indilinx is the underdog that apparently has something to prove, so they've been much more aggressive with their support, even if they make mistakes.

I figured all the Torqx drives used the Indilinx controller....damn.

Has there been any stuttering with the Torqx or Torqx M28?

I've tried searching this forum but it excludes M28.

Since I been here I have not read any complaints about stuttering and the Torqx line.

The Warp drives had a 16kb cache, the Torqx have 64kb, M28's have 128kb.. So it's a world's difference "since then."

I did get an RMA on the M28 and will be purchasing the regular Torqx instead. Thank you for your help...I believe this will help since my goal is Win7 without RAID.
