Hello i just bought the 128gb torqx drive it costed me a pretty penny but its kinda worth it, atm i am only getting around 100 read/write/random is there any way i can get it to go higher?
also is it good to optimize the SSD using Disk keeper 2009? SSD formater
i just bought this last week as well is the firmware already updated or no?
Here is my Dxdiag and it shows my setup on my drive, i had to cut stuff off though to make it fit

download the ssd tweaker....alot easier then going through all that. SSD Tweaker ....not recommended u run wiper.exe in ahci or raid. As for Diskeeper 2009...turn defrag off for this drive, some say Hyperfast works, others say it just defrags the drive......hmmm what else......If ur running windows 7 rc1, its suppose to have its own version of wiper that works when the drive is idle.....other then that, im running a blank. .....some of the forums ive been reading say disable hybernate and move the paging file to a separate drive, anything that does a lot of small writes to the drive.....apparently its not good......im wondering if everyone is just over protective......with a 10 year warranty on these drives.....cant be that bad to have a couple writes on them :P
i agree they are being overprotective but this is on a laptop for school so i need sleep mode, any way i can rewrite my sleepmode to my robsin technology 2gb turbo memory drive as a tweek?
You can't move the hiberfil.sys (hibernation) file onto another drive. You can keep hibernation, but just keep in mind that write will be the size of your RAM every time you hibernate. I suggest just turning the pc off, then back on when you need it, or just use sleep mode if you need to keep things open. I recommend turning off the power settings that turn off the SSD also, maybe patriot can comment on this but iirc the firmware must support the power saving modes anyways. I keep the pc from turning the SSD off to save power to prevent problems when resuming from sleep, which have been reported with "other" manufacturer's drives that don't have the firmware to support it. I am unsure if patriot's drives support the power saving modes.
Have you tried hooking up the torqx as a secondary drive to a different computer, and benchmarking it from that computer? I feel it's worth a shot because if the OS you have installed on the Torqx has lots of programs running and is making lots of reads and writes in the background it will obviously affect your benchmark speed if you're running it FROM the drive its installed on. If you run it from a different computer the results will be slightly handicapped still since the drive is not blank, however since the OS hasn't loaded FROM the torqx there shouldn't be any reads or writes going to the drive besides from the benchmark, and you may see different results. If your results jump up quite a bit then the problem is in the software setup when the OS is running and has been loaded from the Torqx.
I assume you have all the latest drivers installed (Including chipset)

For the record, I wholeheartly second this. I believe there is an option to "shut down the computer when the laptop lid is closed." There are numerous benefits to a complete shutdown. A full boot should be a minute (at worst).
