    Default Please help with PSD34G1333ELK on Gigabyte

    Dear friends.
    I will very appreciate your help to my problem.
    I installed 2 DIM set of Patriot PSD34G1333ELK 1333Mhz DDR3 memory on Gigabyte GA-EP45T-DS3 motherboard. I have True 650W Power supply and all latest patches/updates for BIOS, Win-XP (SP3) are already installed. I don’t want to overclock anything. In the Gigabyte ET6 the memory runs at native 1333Mhz. But the system is very unstable. Every time than I pack/unpack files with RAR or use other heavy programs operating with RAM the system is automatically reboots. Analyzing mem dump I understood that problem in the memory. I tries to run with only one DIM – the problem still exists. Do you have any recommendations s for me?

    Hi Gellery. Welcome. It sounds like you might have 1 bad stick. But, just to be sure, test each stick individually and see if you can get to 1333 MHz. If the stick pass individually, try setting the timings and command rate manually in the BIOS. And it might help to manually set the memory's voltage as well just to rule out any motherboard issues. Hope this helps.

    First of the all thank's for your response. I have problems with any of RAM sticks, even if only one of then installed. I could change any one of following parameters: DRAM voltage (1.5v), DRAM termination (0.75v), CH A/B Data (075v) and address Vref (0.75v). which one do you suggest to change?
    I downclocked the 1333Mhz memory to 1066Mhz and the system seams to be more stable. Do you think the problem with motherboard or with the memory?
    BTW, the MemTest+ didn’t find any problem at all.

    Default PDC34G1333ELK stability problems

    Dear friends.
    I'm also having stability problems with PDC34G1333ELK (2x2GB kit).
    I have Intel Q9300 CPU and Gigabyte GA-EP45T-DS3 motherboard updated with latest R.3 BIOS. I have 650W true power supply. I have latest drivers for all devices. When I set memory rate to auto (1333Mhz) the system crashes within several minutes. When I lowered to 1060Mhz or 1111Mhz the systems run better (about couple of hours) but also crashes. I tried all OS: WinXP SP3 x32, Vista SP1 x64, Windows 7 x32 – same problems. What do you recommend me to do?
    The motherboard have many setting options, may be you could recommend how to configure it?

    Sorry for not seeing this post. Can't believe I missed it. But, anyone having similar issues can try adding DRAM Voltage to match the memory kit's required voltage. And if that doesn't help, just at .1 volt extra for good measure.

    Also, manually set the memory timings to match the memory kit's specs. I've had a couple X48, P35, P45 and even 790i boards that simply wouldn't work right without these manual steps. It's frustrating, but it usually works.

    I tested many settings, now I set to:
    Performance Enchance - STANDARD(/Turbo/Extreme)
    (G)MCH - AUTO (266,200,333,400)
    System memory multiplaxer (SPD) - Auto (FSB: 333,400. Freq: 800/1060/1111/1333)
    DRAM voltage: 1.680V
    the system works for about 5 minutes.
    if set the memory freq to 1111Mhz, the system it's improve stability, but not solves the problem. What to do?

    First off all thank's for your reply
    it's a problem to me to send the memory to you from Israel, since it would terminate my PC for about a month.
    may be you have another idea, since when I changed system memory Multiplexer (SPD) to 1111Mhz instead of native 1333Mhz it seems to work more stable.
    So be you have some recemmendation to me?

    Which FSB ratio are you using? Try the lowest possible such as 266 FSB/ Mem Clock 1333. It might help if you relax the CPU a bit. Try increasing the Memory voltage to 1.95-197. Northbridge or MCH voltage to 1.40.
