...did you have the firmware file on the internal drive or an external drive?
Is there a hard drive in it?
Try taking that out and see what happens...might be a format thing. With upgrade of new firmware, PBO doesn't see hard drive as "properly" formatted.
Cool...thanks man.
He's trying to set up Adhoc....device to device.
Brujay, start with no security, and work your way up.
It's possible the PBO doesn't support adhoc, but I dunno.
My PBO does that HD format prompt, without the firmware update, because I never formatted it with the PBO. This is also the reason your BT/Samba won't work. Once you format the drive with the PBO,...
Patriot_CJ: if this sticky is for the purpose of downloading new firmware, you should probably make it read only. Less confusion that way. If people want to discuss, we can start our own thread for...
It will support WEP, as well as WPA/WPA2. Mine didn't work right off the bat, either, but it's fine now....dunno why.
Try unplugging the adapter and plugging it back in again. This has worked for...
Wanna sell it? I'll give ya $40 bucks for it. :p
Dude, you're using a new device with a new operating system...there are going to be hiccups here and there. We identify them and they fix them...
Has anyone tried playing around with it? Like create a network shortcut, copy it to the PBO or USB stick hooked up to the PBO, and click it? Worth a shot, while you're waiting.
Or
Create the...
Just to confirm, everything works fine, when the USB drive is not hooked up?
Do you have a wireless adapter hooked up to it too? Did you try both front and back USB ports?
I know these seem...
Well, there's that, and the fact that Patriot is more prevalent than Masscool.
Guess the only way to beat them, is via support. Something I would gladly pay extra for!
Go into your router config, it should show up there.
RBaggs, at this point, from what we've gathered so far, there is no way to pick it up without broadcasting.
Hmm...could be a number of things. Depending on your router, are you set up for Wireless N only or will it allow B/G? Cause the Patriot adapter isn't 'N' capable.
Easiest thing would be to turn...
Makes sense...a computer will see it as a storage device too.
Good to know though...I'll have to try it with my iPod Nano and my wifes iPhone (when she's not looking ;) )
I don't wanna sound like an ass, but did you wait about 5-8 seconds after pressing the button only once?
There should only be one red light on, when you turn it off with the remote. No green...
...
Ahhh man....I don't wanna have to format it...it's almost full!
Geez...all these little idiosyncrasies are starting to add up.
Let's go Patriot...get off yer duff's and fix this stuff up. Not...
Uhhh...at Tigerdirect.ca, Masscool is going for $171.99, and the PBO is going for $184.99...so the Masscool is less.
That said, CC is alot cheaper, of course. I got mine there as well. $129, w/...
Franky...
The Masscool media player claims that it plays FLV, so I assume that the Patriot one would. They are the exact same box, it seems. See here:...
Well...23 views...and nothing. Man, I got a winner here, didn't I? Boots up to HD format screen, and my Patriot wireless adapter doesn't fit on the back USB port.
Discovering is fun! Let's see...
:p
It's all good. Like I said, had I paid more, I'd be going into a rant.
There will come a time where we can use any old adapter (right, Patriot??) and then I can use one of mine.
My only...
No no....THIS is exactly the same...
PBO or no?
Haha! That is exactly the same thing! Made by a company called Fanner Tech. They HAVE to be affiliated with Patriot somehow. Same parent company or something. Otherwise< I'm gonna start buying...
Yeah, that's the one I have as well.
The USB port is vertical on the back, right? Well, when I go to plug it in the back, the outer edge of the wireless adapter pushes up against the back edge of...
Good news is, your reply prompted me to go back and check the WEP WPA issue.
You are absolutely right, it will accept WPA2. The first time I tried it, it detected my network, however, when I went to...
