I finally managed to update the firmware.
I just change the SATA mode, I switched from IDE to AHCI then no problem.

I did the upgrade on an Asus P5Q motherboard with a P45 chipset as a non-system disk and it does not work.
There are no error messages, but it always stays with the old firmware.
I have exactly the same issue...
I uptaded with the new firmware, everything it's ok, but when i resscaned the drive, there is still "332ABBF0".
Can we get information from this problem?
