In hopes of making this player usable, I'm gonna try loading various video organizer apps (Media Organizer, Mizuu & Videos) and see whether any of these work right and let me categorize my videos....

This is like a bad joke. 2.5 months past original release date and we have nothing usable? Haven't touched my PBO alpine for a month now. I'm already shopping around for something else.

I've generally liked Patriot brand hardware in the past, but the lack of end user support here has left a bad taste in my mouth. I may do a permanent boycot and advise the others in my hardware group...

Thanks pageauc, I tried the OpenELEC-RPi latest and it does definitely run 1080P mkv's a lot smoother. I have a common problem that most of my older divx rips only play audio, which I find weird...

I noticed that too, but not a biggie.I just reinstall. I have been using the Alpine since you put out the modded player apk. I thing Patriot should be thanking you for making their player usable :)

Thank you! This makes the Alpine at least usable now. Patriots contracted people apparently don't have the time to fix the little things. Now that I can use my player, I'll check the forum in a month...

If Patriot is contracting out the android firmware work, your company should really consider finding someone that can give you realistic timelines and regular updates on when the work will be...
