is there anyone with mac experience on this topic? I have the cable. it is recognized when plugged into my Mac. I open ZTerm and it does not give the option to use the cable, only list bluetooth....

ok, thats what I thought... i was googling hyperterminal for mac and found some apps to try. just wanted to see what people here thought before i go bricking my newly acquired PBO with no way to fix...

Well after my last post I figured out the problem! the name of the folder that I was sharing was "DVD's" as you can put apostrophe's in file names on a mac... once i changed the folder name to "DVDs"...

uhm don't know why this worked but I added a movie folder that is inside the folder that it won't let me access. and i can access the movie file in that folder without it prompting for login...

where do i find this?

yes thats what I did... when I tried guest access it still does not connect

There are no shares available or you are not allowed to access them on the server...

I hooked up my PBO wired to my router and my iMac is wireless. I can see the venus network on my mac and I can see my shared folder from the PBO.
If I try to access the shared folders from the PBO...
