Hi guys,

I have just bought a Hitachi Touro 1TB external hard drive. It is formatted NTFS and is USB powered. My PBO Media Player won't recognise it. I have read several threads about this but none fix my problem (most are about FAT32 vs NTFS, or drive size in excess of 2TB). Here is my status :

- when I plug in the USB hard drive into PBO Cedia Player, the light on its case comes on but then nothing happens. PBO Core Media Player won't recognize the external drive, the led light for USB on the front panel of the media player doesn't come on
- The external hard drive works because I copied files onto it using my computer, and watched one of the movies on it again on the computer
- I tried both USB ports on the Media Player, no luck. I know that the USB ports on the Media Player are fine because another external hard drive (also USB powered, NTFS, but only 500GB) is recognised by the PBO Core Media Player when I plug it in
- I removed the internal hard drive froerm the Media Play in case it was drawing power but that did not fix the issue
- I recently upgraded the firmware to the latest version available : P70R2 (Bootup 27)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am a bit lost.
Thanks a lot
Nic

Hi here,

I just got my Javelin S4 and I have the question about how to increase the capacity of the array.

I created a raid 5 with 3 2TB disks first. Then I inserted the 4th 2TB disk and started the migration process which took me 1 week to finish. After the migration is complete, I can see the raid capacity in "RAID management" window has increased to 5587.93 GB but in the "File System" window, the total capacity is still 3350.25 GB. I assume I should put the total capacity 5586 GB into the "Assign Capacity" field and then click the "extend file system" button to increase the space but after I did that, the total capacity is still the original 3350.25 GB and there is no "Assign Capacity" field in the window anymore. Also I noticed that the windows share is down after the "extend file system" is complete.

So how should I increase the space for this case?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I could live without fancy new options and support, but what's written on the box must work.

PROBLEM:
On both firmwares I've tried (original and 3.0) subtitles are not recognized when video is played from upnp media server.
Different formats (sub , srt) tried - not working thorugh upnp but working from usb and network share.

Did anyone come accross this problem and is there workaround/fix for it?
(besides watching only from usb)

Are subtitles from upnp working for you?

Hi,

I purchased a 2x4GB kit of the Black Viper 3 Dual DDR3 Ram at Frys. Unfortunately it was the last set and it was the DISPLAY item. There was no BOX given and on one of the ram sticks the Patriot information sticker was torn off leaving some serial numbers (last 4-5 digits) that matched the other pair. Will this be a problem somewhere down the road if I need to generate an RMA? Currently I'm testing them on memtest and they are generating no errors and working fine but just want to know what my options in the future if this pair of ram fails.

Thanks
I'm doing power calculations, so I need to know what the max power consumption is under full load (all arrays in use on the module).

I've seen all the spec sheets, but nowhere can I find the consumption. Most manufacturer's list it in the true tech specs (non-consumer specs), i.e Micron shows 2.65W for a similar 8GB module, but I can't find the data sheet for Patriot modules.

Hello, I have 1 kit 4x4GB 2133MHz Patriot Viper black mamba and I'm having problems on the motherboard asrock z77 extreme 4 with this kit.

The bios does not recognize the 16GB installed. Windows 7 does not recognize.
But the strange thing is that the CPU-Z recognizes the memories in their respective sockets.

I use an i7 3770K and Windows 7 x64 ultimate. Have tested the modules one by one. Already tested the sockets one by one. There is no problem with them. Already upgraded to latest bios, not solved.
The XMP profile for these memories is missing in my bios.

complementing:

I tested 2 modules in socket 1 and 3, they work in dual channel (8GB). OK
I tested 2 modules in socket 1 and 4, they work in dual channel (8GB). OK
I tested 2 modules in socket 1 and 2, and only recognizes 4GB in socket 1 in single channel.
I tested 2 modules at socket 3 and 4, and only recognizes 4GB in socket 3 in single channel.

And as I already said, the 4x4GB are not recognized in the bios, not in w7 x64 ultimate. In this configuration, are recognized in dual channel socket 1 and 3. But the CPU-Z recognizes the 4 memories installed in each socket.

Please, what might be going on?

2) Gauntlet Note with firmware PA21_1.2.4.6.bin
3) I use OPlayer HD Lite 2.0.08

Everything works fine except:
- Download using Patriot Connect does not work for large file (seems like close to 2GB, but it fails even for file at 1.834.5MB). It just goes directly to the "Download failed" I tested a few more files with sizes much smaller than 2GB and it works.
However, I can stream through Samba account from Oplayer HD even for files larger than 2GB. (Oplayer HD download does not work either, for everything. That can be another problem).
I make sure my iPad has storage availalbe (something like 4GB).

Any suggestion/help is appreciated.. I like to download the whole file first before playing it.
