Rear Fan - How often does yours run ?

I just received a used Valkyrie and noticed the rear fan is not working with one drive in the unit. Does anyone know if the fan turns and off depending on temperature, or maybe only runs if two drives are installed ? I am assuming it should always be on and my fan is broke..
Please let me know what your fan does ..

Mine stays off about 90% of the time, with 2 drives in.

I wonder why it would be off all the time? It must be temperature regulated or there may be a bug in the system. Is there anywhere in the interface that shows the current temperature?

I guess if I put in an old drive and put the unit into some above normal heat I would find out if the fan comes on if that is the case...

I am just not sure if I need to replace the fan or not, and I am not sure how to do this if so. I am going to call patriot and see if they can help.
