Hi all,

I am trying extremely unsuccessfully to open a port to the Javelin so I can access it from work. I'm not sure if there are specific port number(s) to forward, and if so, what they are. There are no instructions on portforward.com for this unit yet.

I have a crappy Huawei EchoLife HG520i ADSL modem/router set up as a modem/LAN only (wifi disabled) and relaying DHCP. The DHCP server and wifi router is a Linksys WRT54GP2. The Javelin is connected to the Linksys at the moment.

Any ideas if this setup seems ok and what ports need to be setup?

Thanks!

What service are you trying to access? To access the web interface, forward port 80 (as is standard). For FTP, you are in a bit of a pickle as consumer routers have a hard time with it, but forward at least port 21.

If you are trying to access your network shares via the internet, it wont work. Every ISP on the planet blocks CIFS/SMB.
