Where do I find Firmware? DVD Player?

I actually just ordered my PBO but as soon as I get it I would like to flash it with the best firmware for my needs.

I've seen people mention ACRyan firmware but I have yet to see a link to page to download it at.
Anyone have a link?

Also, does anyone know if this firmware will allow me to read movie DVDs from an attached DVD player?
If not does anyone know one that will?

The reason there is no link, is than unofficial firmwares are no longer supported or endorsed in any way on the PBO official forums.
We have created a "neutral" wiki were we can freely share and discuss the unofficial firmwares (among many other things).

The "region free and unencrypted" DVDs and DATA DVDs/BRs are supported on all available firmwares (official, semiofficial and unofficial ones).

I keep getting an error everytime I try to play an unencrypted dvd. What's the problem with this? The error that I receive says that: Unable to play encrypted content - Stop Playback - confirm. I get no other options other than that..

are you sure its unencrypted ? or is it just region free ?

Yes, it is unencrypted. It's a dvd that I burned myself that works on other dvd players and computers. What external dvd drives are supported. I'm using an external blu-ray drive.
