Last summer lightning came in my house. Yes, that CAN happen. It zapped a lot of things, fridge, TVs, ect even my computer. Homeowners insurance paid for new stuff. I got a new Gateway GT5464. Nothing special, I'm not a gamer. I later found out it was (supposedly) limited to 2GB of memory, and was disappointed. TD had a sale on a pair of 2GB Patriot modules, so I ordered them just to see if they would work. Put them in last night, and they DO work! What a difference. I had two 1GB sticks in before. It's too bad so many people are going to think they are limited to 2GB when they can in fact use more. The system may not be able to use all of it, but it is faster then it was before, I assure you.

it really depands on the motherboad that they us. because there can be newer verison of that system that can take more then 2GB of memory. you will have to check with the manufacture on which one you have. not every single one of those system are able to run 2GB memoires.
