Hello, I have a PBO and the Patriot N USB wireless dongle. My router is a Linksys wrt54g. My PC is a Dell running Vista home. The PBO is about 40 ft. from the Linksys. My laptop connects to the Linksys w/ no prob. and it is in the same room as the PBO.

I read the PBO manual and tried to get the wireless to work. It sees my network but won't connect. I know very little about networking.

Does anyone have step-by-step directions on how to setup the wireless? Thanks for reading this post.

How do I tell which boot code I have. I went into the system info. It says "23". There is no 16 or 18. Can someone tell me where to look? Thanks

Its 23 then.
The bootcode here are grouped in two, one is BC16, and the other is BC18+ (which contains 18, 23, 26 and 27)

I got the wifi to work. I need to use an extension cable. I also updated the firmware to PBO Core. It works. Can I use this box to browse the web? How do I do it? Thanks

Following on from the original thread. Trying to do the same thing but with the G Patriot adapter.

This is my 2nd PBO on the same network, wired is working fine (both PBOs) acessing my WHS server in an otherwise W7 network.

Tried to use wireless, with supplied firmware, updated (27) to latest firmware P61R2 no good and back to P61 no good.

In setup I see my SSID full stength, enter my complex password (WHS) and it sits loading for a while and bounces back to the setup screen showing DHCP not ready.

Same when beside router and away from it, other wireless device work fine in this location.

Wireless USB didn't work with the previous PBO either - is there a way to test the USB stick?

From reading here next step is to assign a Fixed IP
or ..

Help appreciated.

could you please give some more details on what you did to get the wireless worked? Yes, you need an extention cable because the USB adapter cannot directly fit in the plug. I already had the extention cable, my PBO sees my network but cannot connect. I have the same router as yours.

Thanks!
