I ordered a "Bargaincell- Brand New Nokia 6103, 6102i, 6102, 6101, 2125i, 2126i, 2128i, 3220, 6015i..." cable from Amazon to flash my bootcode. The picture appeared to be the same as those seen here on the forum. The cost was $1.75 (USD).

The cable arrived today but it is not the cable I thought I was ordering. The one that came is a Nokia branded Type CA-53 with a possible part number of 108382746201. It is a black cable with the word "Nokia" impressed into the rubber on both ends.

My question is does anyone know if this cable will work as required? I really don't want to cut it apart if it is not going to work.

Any advice would be most helpful.

Edited 2:12PM - By doing a Google search I may have answered part of my own question. It appears the CA-53 is a straight USB cable with no transceiver. Now my question is will this work? I think I already know the answer to be "No" but I want to find out for sure.

CA-53 is a normal USB its not serial one like the CA-42, so it wont work.

From the Nokia cable quick installation guide (http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/global/phones/software/Conn_cable_driver_installation_eng.pdf):

For the CA-42 the selected type must be "Serial cable" and for the DK-U2, CA-53, CA-70, DKE-2 and CA-101 the type must be "USB"

Is that the amazon listing (http://www.amazon.com/Bargaincell-Brand-Nokia-6102i-2125i/dp/B000M8WA2G) you used ? it clearly says CA-42, just email them and they should correct the mistake.

Thank you for your quick reply Aasoror. Yes that is the cable I ordered and thought to be receiving. I have now sent them an email explaining what happened.
