Windows XP does not recognize my Patriot XT 4GB

Everything working this morning. Have a laptop that is on Windows 98 and installed driver. At work I use Windows XP and copy certain files back and forth. Not had any problems and have used this way for about a month. All of a sudden, neither computer recognizes the Patriot drive. Have rebooted both computers, taken to even another. Still no go. Can the drive go bad? Any solutions?

If windows is saying that the usb drive is lock or when you go in to the properties of the usb drive and it has 0MB then there is something wrong with the usb drive itself. Yes an usb drive can go bad.
