what's IO ERROR STOP PLAYBACK and why ?
PBO can't read the file .. is that file being streamed from the network ? local USB or local HDD ?

creating two threads about it wont help get it resolved faster (IMHO) ;)
Mods : please merge with the authors duplicate thread here (http://www.patriotmem.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4154).

This is an old thread but is about the very same problem I am having, so I thought I'd revive it. I've never had this error (IO error Stop Playback) before with other HDDs and either of my two PBOs, and now I get it often with a new Seagate HDD. Just wondering if this could be a defective HDD or a USB connection gone bad. I've had no difficulty at all writing to the HDD with my windows PC. Is there a way to try to figure out the cause? Could it be the USB on the PBO?
TIA

Since no one has the solution, I'll post what I have found.
I have 3 Tb and .5 Tb hard drives hooked up to this PBO. The problem I encountered was when I connected the 3 Tb unit to the front USB on the PBO. If I connect the 3 Tb unit to the back USB and the smaller HD to the front USB, the problem stops. So, in short, the PBO does not support large hard drives via the front USB port. Not sure how large the hard drive on the front USB port can be, but the 500 Gb unit works fine.
I hope this helps somebody.

The biggest drive supported by the PBO (USB or Internal) is 2 TB. Any drives bigger than 2 TB can cause various issues when trying to access beyond the 2 TB point.
Cheers !!!
