Hi,
I am so confused with the security with the folders setup on the NAS. For some reason, some user accounts are not able to see the network drive on a Windows 7 platform. e.g. I logged on as myself, I was able to see the NAS but if I used a different user who has the admin rights, that user couldn't see the NAS on the Network Places.
Do you have any idea why this happens?
Also, how can I tie the user on the network to the user setup for accessing the folders on the NAS? Do they have to have the same user account?
Thanks,
doninoz

I have a similar problem...I have setup new folders from the FOLDER SETTINGS and set up a group called 'users' with read/write permissions, admin and no password selected. I have also setup individual users with same permissions. When I try and map those drives from 'MYCOMPUTER' (XPPRO) I keep getting the following errors

and the this one...
http://www.sydneynaturally.com.au/problem002.jpg
No matter what method I try to connect I always get these errors. I can create and connect to all public folders though.
I do not have any other folders mapped!
Thanks in advance...

I guess you have already figured this out, but its a windows issue. You are only allowed to auth with one user under windows to a CIFS/SMB/Sharing server, so if you explore it anonymously, then try to map with a username, windows gets upset.
You can unmap it (the anonymous login) or reboot windows and map the drive without exploring the device. Either solution should clear it up.

Thanks for your reply 'BadIntensions'...I did in fact work it out by trying to map it as an IP address and it worked but I had to go away for a few days and wasn't able to post the fix. Glad you left one just in case others have the same problem.
