This software doesn't really help enhance the PBO but I thought I'de share this recent find for WinDVD Pro, if anyone is looking for a great DVD/BD software player for their Xp/Vista/Win7 PC -- normally $100 but now only $40 till 5-31-10

It's a direct deal from Corel so there shouldn't be any issues with this almost to-good-to-be-true deal

I'm using PowerDVD8 and so far no issues at all - but for $40 I think I'll give WinDVD Pro a shot - http://store1.corel.com/corel/product/index.jsp?pid=prod3520075&store=&cid=catalog20038

Does anyone know of any reasons/issues not to try it ?? - it seems to be rated right up there with PowerDVD 10 (which is around $95 to a $100) - but of course PDVD 10 will have the 3D plug in available which, to the best of my knowledge, WinDVD Pro doesn't offer

I am personally using Power DVD (out of loyalty because they allowed PDVD8 which has dropped the HD-DVD support to coexist with PDVD7).

That said, WinDVD should be as good as PDVD (though I couldn't find any information about BR Live support but again I didn't look that hard).

Now concerning the PDVD 3D support, I really think its over ratted, the 3D is the well known field sequential 3D, for which there is exist couple of players already (Stereoscopic Player (http://www.3dtv.at/Products/Player/Index_en.aspx)and the free StereoMovie Player (http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stvply/index.html)), I didn't have on in my hands but I bet one can extract the left and right eye tracks from the BR and use one of the available solutions (like this (http://www.amazon.com/X3D-TECHNOLOGIES-Gaming-System-Windows-Pc/dp/B00007FY66/ref=dp_cp_ob_vg_title_2)) with the existing software and a 3D ready TV.

I was just trolling around the Corel site and found this coupon code for WinDVD Pro ( SAVE15DOLLARS ) - which made the total price $25

At 75% off - that pretty much made it a no-brainer purchase - just got the S/N and download link - and will install it soon - glad I didn't order it yesterday for $40 - and I hope no one else did either

btw - WinDVD Pro does support BD Live - according to their Sys. Req's
