Green artifacts? High pitched squeaks?

Hello. Just got my new Patriot Box Office and I was wondering if anyone was getting green squares during mkv playback. It only happens on one of my 1080p videos though.

Also, while I was playing another mkv file i found the audio to have intermittent high pitched squeaks.

Everything else seems to work fine though.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :)

Oh, the files I mentioned play fine on my pc

MKV is just a container, the actual codec can be any thing though. Can you check the file information (using media info part of the K-lite codec pack) and see if those files have anything special than those you got playing on your PBO without problems. Kindly report back your findings.

I got the green artifacts and a few high pitched squeaks when I was playing a 720P .mkv file of Numb3rs that I downloaded off of bittorrent. I didn't get it in any other file, so I assumed it was just the one episode. I'll let you know if any other episodes get the artifacts.

FWIW, I didn't get any artifacts on the Top Gear 720 .mkv's I downloaded.

I *think* this might be the problem, I also had a test vid (that someone posted here sometime ago) that was problematic and it had profile 5.1
