View Full Version : FAT32 way more stable and fast than NTFS

I have had all sorts of trouble, not being able to connect, copy, slow access... It seems that re-flashing with FAT32 firmware is an universal cure. Either the NTFS firmware is too buggy, or the filesystem itself is too scary for lowly controller in Gearbox.
I regularly hit 11 MBps with FAT32, which is about theoretical limit of 100mbit connection. I don't want to return Gearbox now :) Let's see if it holds up.

I think I just realized that you are talking about the fat32 version of the 1.27 firmware. I wil, give that a try to see if it solves some of my other issues..

Print Server does not work in NTFS version. It does work in FAT32 version. Thats about all I had issues with so far. Glad you did the perfromance testing...I think I will stick with fat32 for now...
