Hey all,
I've been having a problem with my new Convoy XL..
I have two 320GB 7200 RPM Seagate drives that I would like to be on a RAID 1(mirrored) configuration.
I set DIP switches 1 and 2 to ON and left 4 to OFF. I then powered the enclosure on and hit the "Change Mode" button.
Why does my computer see a 640 GB hard disk? That's not what it should be! It should just be a 320 GB hard drive!
Any ideas?

I just started playing with it some more..
I think the DIP #1 switch is not working. If I set DIP 1 and 4 to on, it should be set to SAFE50 mode. I checked on the Steelvine manager, it's only doing SAFE33.
If I set DIP 1 and 2 to on, it shows as "FAST".
That seems consistent with DIP#1 not working.
Any ideas?

Okay, pretty sure this voids my warranty. But.. Desperate times calls for desperate measures :P
I opened up the backplane and the logic board containing the Silicon RAID controller..
I found the DIP switch that I originally thought was bad. I ohmed out the switches, finding that DIP #1 was indeed broken/bad as I originally thought.
I went ahead and soldered a jumper wire from one lead of DIP#1 to the other side, completing the circuit.
I put it all back together, powered it on... and what do you know?
My raid is now in RAID 1(SAFE) :)
I'm now a happy camper.

I am glad everything has worked out for you. It did sound like you have a faulty DIP switch. Please keep me posted if it fails again and we can see what we can do.
