Got it installed...did not need the firmware upgrade...it already had it in the ssd.

Runs outstandingly fast.

I do have a few questions though that some people on here have raised..and some have not.

One that some people have raised on here is the part about keeping the drive fast. I have had to uninstall and re-install some programs and I heard that even when you uninstall a program..even when you delete a file....the space on the ssd that held the file does not erase. Is there a program that does something similar to the wiper.exe where it cleans up the spaces on the ssd that has files long since deleted? And you don't have to go through a long re-format process?

Another question that someone had mentioned to me is the pagefile size. From what I read...keeping your computer on for long periods of time hurts your ssd and that if you don't go into the pagefile to limit the pagefile size...that it could damage your ssd as the pagefile gets bigger and bigger. But when I went to my pagefile section on Windows 7..it says that there is no pagefile size...but that Windows is automatically adjusting the pagefile..so there is nothing I can do for that. But is what I read about the pagefile size true?

There is a general paranoia floating around about "saving" your ssd from failure.

Here are the best recommendations:

Turn off defrag
Turn off super and pre fetch
Turn off indexing and search
Tun the patriot wiper utility ever once and a while
Turn on the write cache... actually just make sure it is on

And while most do not agree, I would recommend running in AHCI mode. I have had much better results.

I wouldn't worry so much about pagefile. Mine is on the default 12gigs at the moment. I will reduce it only when I need the extra space.

Well..thats my concern..is on the wiper utility...if I use it..will it clean out my entire drive?

"Clean out" as in delete? No; in layman's terms it basically "organizes" the drive.

Oh ok...I have been trying to download the utility from their website...it says it cant display the page.

I guess something is wrong on their end.
