Anyone else think that new firmware found elsewhere is looking awefully nice? (hint, hint, wink, wink patriot)

You can flash other firmware at your own risk if you think it'll work. What I was told by the flash team was that "other manufacturer" firmwares are catered to their drive. If you want to compare their products to ours, apples-to-apples it should apply to a drive with a different on-board cache.

However, we can assume no liability for a drive ruined by an incompatible firmware.

chrisdglong, if you wish to void your warranty I have read reviews where they did it. It will read the other company's name in the device manager. I don't think it's worth it. Patriot will stand behind their products. I would urge you to be patient.

Actually, I don't think my hint hint was very clear. Sorry, I was fishing for an unofficial official response as to wether patriot is working on the new firmware or not. I have faith they are, and appreciate their thorough testing. But, It would be nice just to know if something is in the works.

I agree. All we want is some assurance that Patriot intends to support its products. chrisdglong, I understood your hint hint.

That is what I am interested in as well. It looks like we are waiting for firmware version 1819. Keeping my fingers crossed.

They will get it to us. They were behind on 1571 and it will be the same with 1819. I was very impatient when 1571 was released by the others and I didn't have it so I can see how you guys feel. It's just going to get worse when all the reviews come out for the other drives with the new F/W. I know how you feel but just know it will be a while and Patriot isn't going to comment on this much. It would just be throwing gas on a flame.

I probably wont be an early adopter myself. I would just like to see if this new firmware is going to be stable and increase GC support. Then, if this is the case I will install.
