How is speed of 'Extreme Performance Xporter XT Boost USB Flash Drives' 32gb? How fast is the Read and the Write?

Average Read Speed: 26MB/s
Average Write Speed: 18MB/s

I just bought this drive and I am extremely disappointed in the read/write speeds. My write speeds average around 6 or 7 mb/sec. Read speeds are around 18 mb/sec. I even used Patriot's low level format tool and the speeds have not improved. This is extremely disappointing. I own a 16gb Xporter and it does not have these slow issues.

I found a possible solution. I booted off of an Ubuntu 9.04 disc and formatted my Patriot 32gb Xporter to NTFS using the built-in "Partition Editor" tool. After I did this both my write and read speeds seemed to increase on my drive. Now when I write a file it starts around 50 mb/sec, drops to around 20 mb/sec fairly quickly, and then levels off around 11 mb/sec. This is a definite improvement over the 6 mb/sec max I was experiencing before. Copying starts and stays around 29 mb/sec. Before it was around half of that level.

I reformated my Patriot 32G. I will use the flash drive to save Blu-Ray videos.
