I just purchased and received the Patriot Xporter 16gb flash drive on 2/19. When I inserted it in my usb, it successfully installed the driver software in my PC. When I right clicked on the flash drive/properties, there is no tab in the auto play window for ready boost. I have the auto play set up in ctl panel to use auto play for all media and devices. Appreciate a timely response on how to get ready boost to work since the main reason I bought the flash drive was it was certified for vista ready boost. Thanks. George

Hello George,

It's possible that you might have the Readyboost disabled in your settings. Please take a look at this thread to see if you can find a solution...

Thanks for giving me the thread to Raffles. He stated to check services which I did and I had it set as manual and not started. Once I set it to automatic and started it, rebooted PC, took out Patriot flash and reinserted it, I got the ready boost auto play option and voila the properties showed my ready boost tab. Now, I am back in business thanks to you. I had Dell support work on my system for about an hour and they gave up and suggested that I try Dell pay service which I declined. Thanks again. George

I recently had to restore Vista Home Premium on my desktop. Now that it is finished, my Patriot ready boost enhanced flash drive is not set up for ready boost when I insert it into usb. There is no tab for ready boost. I went to services and ready boost was set to automatic. When I tried to start it, I get error code 1075 message that states "could not start ready boost. Dependency service does not exist or is marked for deletion". This flash drive worked fine for ready boost until I had to restore OS. Any ideas on how to get this flash to work for ready boost? Appreciate anyone's thoughts on how to solve this. George

Hello,

Error code 1075 is usually attributed to a printer connection/ driver error. When you re-installed your O/S, Did you make sure to install all of the usb drivers as well?

Hi Ben: I had the flash drive in when the OS was installed. I assume it loaded all the appropriate usb drives since my mouse, keyboard, external hard drive, smartphone sync and printer usb's all work. I think when ready boost was working, there was a ready boost file on the flash. At the moment the flash is completely blank. Seems problem is not being able to start services for ready boost. Any other thoughts on how to solve this issue?

Hello George,

Did you have files on the flash drive prior to the installation? Did the OS installation wipe the files out? Does the usb still function if you add and remove files?

Windows has limited Generic drivers for usb, however I recommend reinstalling the complete drivers from either your motherboard manufacturer's website or cd/dvd that should have came with the system.

I had I think 2 files on the flash drive before I re-installed OS and they were gone once the re-install of the OS was finished. Not sure names of files but I think 1 was named ready boost. I can copy and delete files to the flash drive. Tried another usb slot with same negative results. Tried to update the driver from both on-line and manually from my PC folders and it was found that I have the latest drivers. I formatted the flash drive. I tried to start both superfetch and ready boost services and both times I get the error 1075message and neither starts.

Patriot tells me it's an MS problem and not the flash. Sent message to Microsoft to see if they can help. Any other thoughts on how to slove this?
